As part of efforts to reduce the cost of virtual learning, the Association of Faculty of Arts Students Executive body has succeeded in providing a subsidized data plan for students. This is a result of the partnership the Executive signed with the network provider, MTN.

The data subsidization, which had been promised earlier by the faculty president, Eniola Francis, is a solution to the problem of increasing cost of data plans, as well as a relief from the problems students are likely to face during virtual learning system, owing to the high cost of data plans. The plans include  5GB for one thousand and fifty naira(#1,050) and 10GB for two thousand one hundred naira (#2,100). To validate monthly data plans, students are required to pay into the association’s account and send a screenshot of the payment to the faculty’s financial secretary.

The plan is available to all UI students who are MTN users.
