SEALS Cup ’25: Plato Femini Advance to Finals as Andah Babes Fall Flat Against Human Kinetics (HKE)

It was a mixed bag of emotions for the Faculty of Arts female departmental teams at the ZIK Maracana on Wednesday, June 18, 2025. Philosophy (Plato Femini) defeated Statistics 3-2 to reach the finals, while Arch/Ant (Andah Babes) crashed out after a 2-0 loss to the Human Kinetics (HKE) girls, settling for a third-place matchup with Statistics.
Plato Femini, who reached this stage in the maiden edition of the SEALS Cup ’24 female category but were defeated by their counterparts from Clinical Sciences (MBBS), did one better this session. They showed determination and grit to snatch a win from the Statistics girls, courtesy of a brace from Heritage and a lone goal from Anwuli, setting up a mouth-watering final clash with Human Kinetics (HKE) on June 21, 2025.
Meanwhile, the Andah Babes, who also failed to reach the finals in the maiden edition after being beaten by the Arts and Social Sciences Education (ASSE) girls from the Faculty of Education in the semi-final, once again dashed fans’ expectations this session. They fell to a second-half brace by Human Kinetics player Debbie, ensuring the SEALS Cup final continues to elude the Arch/Ant female team.
