The Association of Faculty of Arts Students, University of Ibadan (AFAS), has launched the ‘Visibility to AFAS Studentpreneur Initiative’, calling on student entrepreneurs to showcase their talents and business ventures.
The initiative, announced recently, is a chance for Faculty of Arts students running a business alongside their studies to shine.
According to AFAS Treasurer, Muhammed Okunola, and Assistant General Secretary, Ayorinde Olayode John, the AFAS Student Entrepreneur Spotlight Initiative is designed by the Catalyst Team to showcase and celebrate AFASites who are running businesses, brands, or services while pursuing their studies in the university.
“We should have started it, but we’re facing a technical issue. Everything will be solved this month and we are going to kickstart everything,” Muhammed Okunola stated.
The initiative aims to boost student entrepreneurs’ visibility, foster creativity, and create a supportive environment. By participating, students can gain exposure through the association’s TV, reaching a broader audience, and building valuable connections with peers, entrepreneurs, and potential customers.
Moreover, the spotlight will also motivate student entrepreneurs by acknowledging their efforts and reminding them that their hard work is valued. As every financial member of the association is contributing to the faculty’s development and success, as recognised by the constitution, these students deserve support, recognition, and encouragement.
