Jaw War ’25: Awo, Idia, Bello, ABH, Zik Shine in First Rounds

Jaw War 2025 kicked off with intellectual battles between halls of residence at University of Ibadan.
The first round of the competition took place on Tuesday, 16th September, 2025, at the New Faculty Lecture Theatre, Faculty of Science.
The round featured Awo Hall versus Tedder Hall, Kuti Hall versus Idia Hall, Zik Hall versus Queens Hall, Indy Hall versus Bello Hall, and Mellanby Hall versus Alexander Brown Hall (ABH).
Results showed Awo Hall (81.91%) beat Tedder Hall (77.083%), Idia Hall (78.916%) edged Kuti Hall (77.083%), Bello Hall (85.16%) defeated Indy Hall (79.916%), Zik Hall (78.1%) gapped Queens Hall (76.4%), and Alexander Brown Hall (84.94%) won Mellanby Hall (78.16%).
Best speaker awards went to Opeyemi Ajayi from Bello Hall and Mobolarinwa from ABH.
Dignitaries present included the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academics), Professor Rotimi Arotiba; Dean of Students, Professor Damola Lewis; and Chairman of Day, Mr. Tomisin Odunbaku.
Professor Arotiba delivered the welcome address, while Mr. Odunbaku gave the keynote speech.
The round was hosted by Precious Ibeh and Oyindamola Fawehami.
