AFRICAN ART IS UNDERAPPRECIATED AND NEGLECTED, WOLE AYOOLA LAMENTS

Wole Ayoola, has lamented that African art is underappreciated and neglected over the years. He said this while presenting his paintings in an exhibition themed THE ROUTE: An exhibition of paintings, mixed media and drawings, on September 13th and will run till October at Cornelius Adepegba Museum of African Art, Institute of African Studies, University of Ibadan recently.
Speaking on the paintings, he said that he was inspired by his experiences and some sociopolitical realities prevalent in the country. While taking the audiences through the various paintings, he emphasized that Africans are yet to explore the golden treasures of arts.
The exhibition which started on September 13, will run till October at the same venue.
