In the spirit of TED’s mission, “Ideas worth spreading”, TEDx eventually held in the school on the 22nd of September at the Wole Soyinka’s Theatre.

The event tagged 1000idedas+1 had personalities like Mary Onyali, Dr. Aderemi Abiodun, Okezi Uwede-Meshack, Funmi Cole, Bisi Ogunwale and others who all spoke concisely on how to be better in their areas of expertise and affecting the society with impacts. 

While speaking, Mary Oyali, one of Nigeria finest athlete in the 90’s emphasized the need for education. According to her, both sports and academics work together because when she eventually retired in 2004, she resorted to her degree as the other alternative to live.  She implored the general populace to participate in the current fund scheme for Nigeria athletes.  

The event was however brought to a climax with the appearance of the Nigeria artiste, Simi Ogunleye, who took a different turn to buttress the fact that “ideas rules the world, but not everyone’s idea can rule the world”. She also gave numerous pointers on how to effectively actualize these ideas.

Other highlight of the event includes performances, networking session, refreshment breaks, and oratory contests.
