​ABADINA MEDIA RESOURCE CENTRE HOLDS INTERNATIONAL SCHOOL LIBRARY MONTH

The Abadina Media Resource Centre, University of Ibadan has held its annual public lecture recently, to mark the International School Library month themed: Why I Love My School Library at Trenchard hall, University of Ibadan.

The purpose of the event was to awaken the reading culture in students and make them see the essence of using the library. A major point well-driven home at the event is readers being leaders. 

Various speakers emphasized the importance of reading and pointed out that it is the only tool through which student can navigate the world. One of them, Prof. Soji Adejuwon, an alumni of Abadina Media Resource Centre said, “If you make the library your domain, there is no aspect of life you will not be able to navigate.”

Also speaking the Deputy Vice Chancellor, Academics; Prof. Adeyinka Aderinto charged the students to use the library as it is only when it is used it that information is gained. He implored all Parent/Teacher Associations (PTA) of various schools to contribute towards donating books to school libraries.

Present were members and representatives of board of librarians from different schools as well as primary and secondary schools’ pupils and students.
