UI CAMPUS JOURNALISTS VISIT HOME FOR ORPHANS AND VULNERABLE CHILDREN

University of Ibadan campus journalists recently went on a visit to Tabitha Home, Ibadan, a formal care and transitional home for orphans and vulnerable children.

The campus journalists include Ogunmuyiwa Rachael, the editor-in-chief of Association of Faculty of Arts Students (AFAS) Press Organization, Babatunde Aishat, the editor-in-chief of Obafemi Awolowo Hall, and other members of AFAS Press.

The children who according to the care-givers have interest in founding a press club were taken through what journalism is all about, what it takes to be a journalist, the advantages, ethics, among others.

Meanwhile, the children have been encouraged to be consistent in their efforts so as to improve their writing and reading skills. They were also encouraged to be more observant as it will help them to be able to write about the world around them.
