Manchester United agree £80 million deal to sign Maguire
Manchester United have struck a deal with Leicester to bring their star defender Harry Maguire to Old Trafford on a world-record fee for a defender. The club has been chasing after the England international all summer, and former coach Jose Mourinho had tried to sign him last year.
Maguire appears to be quite happy to play at Old Trafford because he wants to follow in the footsteps of his heroes Rio Ferdinand and Vidic. But the deal had dragged on due to Leicester’s insistence to let him go only for a world-record fee. The £80 million deal surpasses what Liverpool paid for Virgil Van Dijk last summer, and is now subject to personal terms and a medical.
Arsenal bring in magical Lyon winger Pepe for €80 million
The Gunners have signed Lyon and Ivory Coast international Pepe for a staggering €80 million. The left-footed winger has been identified as a ‘second Hazard’ by many, and there has been a race all summer for his signature, but it appears that Arsenal have won it. The winger arrives at the Emirates as the second big signing of the London club after their earlier signing of Real Madrid and Spanish midfielder Dani Ceballos on loan.
Manchester United agree Lukaku-Dybala swap deal with Juventus
The Old Trafford club is currently reigning in the transfer world after agreeing a deal to sign Harry Maguire and now an exchange with Juventus for their Argentinian midfielder Dybala.
The two clubs are reported to have agreed to the deal and all that is left is for Dybala to agree to go to Manchester United. If he does he will join up with former team mate Paul Pogba in Manchester United’s midfield. But the deal could still fall through if he doesn’t.
