The Vice Chancellor of the University of Ibadan, Prof. Abel Idowu Olayinka has promised no further disruption in power supply.
This he said via a WhatsApp chat after appreciating the entirety of the University for bearing with the management in the time of challenge that had lasted for about three days.
Prof. Olayinka said, “Power supply should have been restored now. We will ensure that there is no further disruption”.
In appreciating the University’s patience with the management, the VC said:
“Electricity supply finally restored a few minutes ago.Three days of different challenges. Thanks for your patience. Have a restful night”.
He did not state what exactly cause of the power issue when asked, but only promised that the issue has been solved.
The cause of the power outage was, however, related to correspondents from AFAS PRESS and UCJ correspondents as an explosion at the back of the outgoing power house at 33kv substation on Friday.
