THE AFAS DEAN’S CUP DRAWS: WHO WILL FACE WHO?
Justin Ehiogu
The Dean’s Cup is held every year and contested by football teams of the faculty’s twelve departments. This season’s draws were held on Friday at the Small Lecture Theatre (SLT), and presided over by Dr Adams Akewula.
In the male category, Defending champions, Archaeology and Anthropology, find themselves in a potentially tricky group A with History, Arabic and Islamic Studies, and workaholics CLA.
Last season’s finalists, Classics, are in a group of death that includes Theatre Arts, English, and Linguistics. Philosophy, who won the trophy six times on the bounce before their run was finally broken last year, are in a relatively easy group with Music, European Studies and Religious Studies.
In the female category, Archaeology and Anthropology – also defending champions – face Philosophy, European Studies and Classics in Group A, while History face Arabic and Islamic Studies, History and Music in group B. In group C Religious Studies face Linguistics, Theatre Arts and CLA.
