If you saved one dollar every day, by the end of the year, you’d have $365. However, $365 didn’t just appear, $1 more made all the difference. That’s the slight edge at work. Slight edge simply means a seemingly insignificant change that holds so much power when it gets accumulated. Slight edge operates on the law of compound interest. Imagine leaving bucket to collect water from a trickling tap, in a couple of days, the water level would have increased, and it would keep increasing, so far the tap does not stop trickling.
Many a time, people make life plans without considering the slight edge. A lot of people had a big picture of their lives but give up barely before starting. What happened? They didn’t consider the slight edge. The problem with people who quit too early is that they expect results too early, so when the results do not seem to be forthcoming at the pace they have planned, they decide it is not worth it, then quit.
The slight edge principle however emphasizes the power of consistent efforts in getting results. What is more beautiful about the slight edge principle is that you are not only patient about your process, you are able to master and understand it.
What is your slight edge?
Your slight edge is that little thing to do on a regular basis, with a result in view. You plan could be to lose weight in three months. Your slight edge could be walking a mile every day or jogging for thirty minutes. The slight edge therefore not only helps you to believe and master the process, you become it.
