SPEAKER, OYO STATE HOUSE OF ASSEMBLY,COMMISSIONS NEWLY RENOVATED AFAS SECRETARIAT

The Speaker, Oyo State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Debo Ogundoyin has, on Thursday, 29th July, 2021, commissioned the newly renovated AFAS secretariat. Facilitated by Hon. Victor Olojede, Special assistant to the Governor on students’affairs and an alumnus of the faculty, the renovated secretariat was commissioned in honour of the Governor of Oyo state, Engr. Seyi Makinde

Alongside the renovation, Hon. Olojede pledged a yearly donation of one hundred thousand naira (#100,000), for five years, to the student body of the faculty.

In his address, the Speaker, Rt. Hon Debo Ogundoyin briefed the students on the ongoing backstage efforts to ensure that the unemployment rate in Oyo state diminishes and stressed the importance of students becoming employers of labour.

While stating what the development means to his administration and AFAS as a whole, the faculty President, Eniola Francis asserts that the commissioning brought several Oyo State top officials to the faculty which gave the team more opportunity to interact with these personalities. The established interaction, which will continue, will optimistically attract more opportunities to AFAS”.

The commissioning, which held at the Faculty Quadrangle, had in attendance, the Sub-Dean of the faculty, Barrister(Dr) O. P.Oke; the Faculty Officer, Mrs Oluwatoyin Dibosa; President of the Student Union, Olusegun Akeju; Speaker of the Faculty Legislative Council; Rt. Hon Muhammed Solahudeen; members of the Executive council and AFASites.

The event reached its climax at approximately 5:10 pm, when the Speaker, Rt. Hon. Debo Ogundoyin made the final ceremonial act of cutting the ribbon at the entrance to the secretariat, marking the commission.
