CGPA REQUIREMENT FOR POLITICAL ASPIRANTS MOVED BACK TO 2.5

After back and forths on the CGPA requirement for aspirants contesting executive position within the faculty, the CGPA requirement has now been restored to the initial 2.5. This follows the approval of the Sub-dean, Faculty of Arts, Dr Tunde Blavo, in a stakeholders meeting held on Monday 27th September, 2021.

According to the report on the meeting with the Sub-Dean which was signed by the CPS Chairman, Oguntibeju Peter, Mohammed Solahudeen, FLC speaker, and AFAS President, Eniola Francis, the Sub-Dean finally approved 2.5 as the CGPA requirement for intending political aspirants for this 2020/2021 session after much plea and deliberations.

An agreement was however reached that the 3.0 CGPA requirement will begin take effect from next session onwards.

This comes after yet another ban on electoral activities was placed on electoral activities to address issues and questions generated by the increased CGPA requirement.

It should be noted that the initial CPGA requirement was raised from 2.5 to 3.0, which according to the Sub-Dean was to raise student leaders who are outstanding and not mediocres.
