AFAS Executive Hosts Book Reading in Partnership with Purple Bloom Publishers

The Association of Faculty of Arts Students (AFAS) in collaboration with Purple Bloom Publishers, Wednesday, hosted a book reading and signing program for students of the Faculty.
The book reading which was held at the Large Lecture Theatre had in attendance two prolific writers and authors; Giwa-Onafuwa of Splash FM and Sianah Nalika Deshield.
Addressing Afasites, the two authors, known for gender advocacy enlightened students on teenage life and the consequences of nefarious practices. They encouraged students to embrace positivity and admonished them to strive hard during their youthful days so as live a fulfilling life. The need to also stop fantasizing about the future but live in the moment was also pinpointed.
During the panel session, Giwa discussed the central idea behind her novel, “Lara’s Lessons” and Sianah gave a peek in of what to expect in her story, “Who is Kemah”. The authors also discussed the importance of family bonds and effective parenthood in the life of a child.
Other activities such as a spoken word session, poetry performance, comedy session were also featured.
