Ex-Afasite Grabs One Million Naira Cash Prize at NYSC Camp

In partnership with the Nigerian Youth Service Corps (NYSC), Access Bank, Nigeria awarded a grant of one million naira to a blooming entrepreneur, 25 years old Adeyinka Gold, on Friday, July 1, 2022.

The event, tagged ‘Accesspreneur’, aimed at empowering Nigerian corp members in the realisation of their feasible business plans.
It spanned several days, from the 22nd of June – Friday, July 1, 2022, which over two thousand corp members in Iseyin, Oyo State, registered to participate.

After careful deliberation, the contestants were reduced to just five nominees, out of which the best pitch was determined by the panel of judges.

The winner, Adeyinka Gamaliel Gold, is a 2021 graduate of Music from the University of Ibadan. Being a musical enthusiast, Adeyinka mentioned during an interview with AFAS Press that the grant would help facilitate his music career and his many ambitions in the industry.

‘The Nigerian music industry generated over $6 billion last year from streaming revenue alone. I hope to be able to tap into that huge market,” excited Gold said. He noted further that such a grant deconstructed a lot of misconceptions about the youth service. He also encouraged fellow Nigerian youths to not take the experience lightly.

‘I think the NYSC is like a melting pot of opportunities’, he said. ‘The vast amount of opportunities available alone makes the programme more than worth it to me and I would advise anyone going in to focus on taking advantage of these opportunities,” he added.

During his days at the University of Ibadan, he was a prominent public speaker known for his excellent prowess in public speaking.
