Classics collaborates with CLA, NASELS, Linguistics to train students on Entrepreneurship

The Association of Classics Students, the Association of Communication and Language Arts Students, the Linguistics Students Association and the National Association of English and Literary Studies has jointly announced a seminar to train students of departments on entrepreneurship.

The seminar which is billed to be held on the 1st of April at the Faculty of Tech’s TLT is scheduled to start by 11 am. According to the organizers, “the StudentPreneur Seminar is an event organized to help young entrepreneurs launch and manage their businesses effectively. It is an opportunity for students who aspire to be entrepreneurs to learn from experienced business owners and successful entrepreneurs.”

“Attending the StudentPreneur Seminar will expose you to a wealth of knowledge, ideas, and strategies that will help you kickstart and grow your business. You will learn how to develop the right mindset for Entrepreneurship, the art of Storytelling, social media Marketing, and Financial Management.”

“Additionally, you will network with like-minded individuals and business experts, gaining insights and resources you need to succeed in your entrepreneurial journey,” the announcement reads.

Mr Raphael Stephen, founder of the Fame foundation will be facilitating the session on the mind of an entrepreneur, Mr. Elebute Samuel, a senior marketing officer at LearnCity will take the session on You and the Social Media, Miss. Adebola Williams, a brand storyteller at Moni (a fintech startup, will be facilitating a session on The Art of Storytelling while Mr Bayo Adeyinka, a banker, will facilitate a session on Managing your finances.

While speaking to AFAS Press, Damilola Olunuga, the president of the Association of Classics Students said the idea was borne out of his desire as a finance enthusiast to help student entrepreneurs.
“When I got this idea, I reached out to Theodore (ACLAS president) who let me know that they are planning for such already in his department. So, we decided to collaborate for wider coverage. This is a seminar that is free to the students of the departments; the CPS has been informed to tell their students too. It is free and an opportunity to get a lot of insights because the facilitators are renowned and experienced in their fields,” he said.

The organizers also announced that attendees will have the opportunity to get a discount on their business CAC registration.
