UCJUI Inducts New Members, presents Famous Five awards

The 34TH Adminstration of the Union of Campus (UCJ), University of Ibadan inducted new members as campus journalists on Saturday, April 1 2023.

The induction exercise which was held at Trenchard Hall last weekend brought together Campus Journalists from different Local Press Organization (LPO) for the event. High performing inductees were awarded with prizes. Eriomala John won the prize for the best inducted member of the union.

The ceremony also features the presentation of Five Famous Awards to distinguished personalities in Journalism; Academics; Entrepreneurship; Entertainment; Activism. The awardees include: Tijani Mayowa (Journalism Category); Prof. Stella Odebode (Academics Category); Nurudeen Bakare (Entreprenuership Category); Kunle Remi (Entertainment Category); Activism (Adebowale ‘Debo’ Adedayo).

It also features the launch of the annual campulse magazine of the union.
Other programs of the event includes: Announcement of the Fisayo Soyombo Essay Winners, which was won by Akinmoyeje Precious, Panel Sessions on national issues & Brain teasers.
