Super 4: AIS defeats CLA 3-1 in the third place match

AIS, defeats the department of Communication and Language Arts 3-1 in the third place match at the SUB pitch, a scoreline that came as a surprise to many following AIS’ heavy defeat to Classics on Thursday.

Tanwa, AIS captain, open the scoring from a sensational freekick played from the middle of the pitch which went directly into the back of the net. However, CLA failed to draw level after their No 10 player blazes the ball over the bar one on one with the AIS goalkeeper.

Few minutes to the end of the first half, CLA drew level with a goal that came from a corner which Dotun taps into the back of net. The half time scoreline was a one all draw.

After the restart, AIS raced into the lead for the second time in the match via Tanwa, who got his second few minutes after the restart from another freekick.

A chance went begging for CLA to half the deficit after Dotun slipped and failed to convert from a cross.

The winning was nailed by a third goal from AIS when the goalkeeper failed to have a good control of ball, leaving it to the possession of AIS striker Miqdad slots the ball into an empty net.
