Tobi Odeyinka Emerges as 35th President of UCJUI

AFAS Press former Politics Editor, Tobi Odeyinka, has on Tuesday, 2nd of May 2023 been elected as the 35th president of the umbrella body for all press organization in the University of Ibadan, Union of Campus Journalists.
Tobi, a 300-level student of the department of Communication and Language Arts, who currently serves as the Vice-president Editorial of the Union secured the victory with a total of 65 votes, defeating his opponent, Tiamiyu Hikmah, who polled 34 votes.
Reacting to the victory, Oluwatobi expressed his excitement and affirmed his commitment in ensuring not to disappoint campus journalists.
“I feel excited, and at the same time, I feel challenged as it is a call to serve. I appreciate my dear colleagues for the confidence reposed in me, and I promise not to disappoint them,” he said.
Other members of the Union’s executives elected in the elections include: Adebayo Abdulrahman – Vice-president Editorial, Deborah Ukaegbu – Vice-president Administration, Fagbemi Joshua – General Secretary, Abdulganiyu Lateefat – Financial Secretary, Odedele Covenant – PRO I, Akano Aishat – PRO II and Sanusi Aminat – Assistant General Secretary.
The handover ceremony for the newly elected executives is scheduled to take place on Saturday, May 6 at the Tafawa Balewa Hall by 3pm.
