Profiling Top Female Players in the Faculty
Since the resuscitation of female football in the Faculty of Arts, some female players have been proactive. They have made female football exciting and fun to watch with their brilliant performances on the field of play.
In no particular order, here is a list of top female players in the faculty based on their performances in the recent Super 4 Competition.
- Naiwo
Naiwo is a Religious studies footballer. She is a striker that shoots exceptionally well and her lone goal in the super 4 finals won them the competition. If you need an accurate and confident shooter, she is the person for the job. Her shots are top-notch and force full.
- Dara
Dara is a CLA footballer that plays for her department, faculty and hall of residence. She is the captain and striker of the ACLAS Female team. She used to play football in secondary school and once played for the Milo team of her school. She is swift at taking decisions with balls and also has an incredible goal sense. When on the field of play, you will feel her fierce energy and grit as she calls for the ball. If you look forward to seeing plenty of action in a match, look out for her. Although the CLA team did not proceed to the first place round having been beaten by ARCH/ANT, she still put in her very best at the third place match as she always has. During the third place match, she single-handedly dribbled past the defense of the opponent to secure a goal and went further to make it a hat trick.
- Lois
Lois is an ARCH/ANT player that understands the game of soccer. She started playing at secondary School where she participated in the Splash Fm soccer competition. A striker and also a left back defender that handles balls like a professional–heads, blocks and shoots balls accurately. She is swift and unstoppable when on the field of play. Her flexibility with balls contributed to the win against CLA at their first match in Super 4. Her kicks has improved tremendously as well during Super 4. Although she lost a penalty during the first place match, she is a player to look out for at any competition.
- Dorcas
She is a Religious studies goal stopper. She took the mantle from Ara and was exceptional at the Super 4. If you are wondering where she gets such brilliant goalkeeping skills: she plays soccer with her brother siblings at home. You can proudly call her Miss clean sheet as she conceeded no goal at the Super 4. She blows my mind with her energetic penalty save against ARCH/ANT. She intends playing for the faculty and hall of residence soon. A goalie any team would love to have.
- Zara
Zara, like Louis, is an exceptional ARCH/ANT female player. Growing up with her cousin and sibling who were boys, played a pivotal role in her passion for football. Her position solely depends on the match at hand, but she mostly plays at the midfield. She also plays for the Faculty. Essentially, she is a good header that can destabilize a goalie. Her passion during a match is unequal as her free kick during the match between CLA and ARCH/ANT won them the game. She puts in her best for the team at every match, but her best wasn’t enough to win them a trophy this time. We hope to see more of her exceptional play in forthcoming competitions.
Imagine what these 5 can do together as a team. That is like building a formidable and commendable team. We hope to see the tremendous improvement in their performance in forthcoming competitions.
