FLC approves Afas week budget

In preparations for the social events lined up for second semester, faculty of arts’ legislative council has approved the proposed budget for the AFAS week for the 2021/2022 session.


The budget was approved in the 13th plenary session of the legislative council that was held on Saturday, 13th of May, 2023 at Room 40, faculty of arts.


Having scrutinized the budget presented to the house by the AFAS Director of Social and Welfare, Richard Elijah, the house made lots of modifications in the proposed budget due to the financial status of the association due to the non-payment of dues by some Afasites.


The content of the approved budget comprises the provision for the personal lecture, intra-departmental oratory (₦26,600), movie night (₦15,000), cultural night(212,000), variety night (₦303,100), and general logistics (₦85,300).


Also, the house also approved a sum of ₦55,600 for the faculty legislative summit in a proposed budget presented by Hon Anuoluwapo.


The motion for the approval of the total sum of ₦697,600 (in addition to the FLC summit) for the AFAS week budget was moved by Hon Noah from philosophy constituency and seconded by Hon Godwin Joy from CLA constituency.
