AFAS Holds Sanitation Exercise

The Association of Faculty of Arts Students successfully held the first Sanitation Exercise under the Faculty Marker Board Sanitation Initiative on Saturday, September 23, 2023.

According to Adedeji Wilhelm, the General Secretary of AFAS, the Sanitation exercise was previously scheduled to begin Saturday 16, September, but due to circumstances around necessary formalities, the exercise was delayed.

He mentioned that even though they were unable to access old lecture rooms, they had gained permission to start the exercise from the New Faculty Building.

Adedeji stated that the aspects covered included the cleaning of the teaching board in the NFC UG02b classroom, movement of chairs from the hallway, general cleaning of classrooms and hallways, cleaning of the seminar room, amongst other activities.

He added that the exercise is not a one-off event, but it continues till the purpose of the initiative is achieved. The exercise had members of the association working until the selected rooms in the New Faculty Building were left in a better condition than they had been met.
