NUC Visits UI Ahead of ICT Evaluation

The management of the University of Ibadan has received the principal project monitoring officer on ICT Development from the National Universities Commission (NUC), Mrs. Simi Sophia Gowon, on an assessment visit to evaluate the proposed Agence Franchise de Development (AFD) which is a supported ICT Development project in the University.


The Deputy Vice Chancellor Administration, Professor Peter O. Olapegba, FNPA, who spoke on behalf of the Vice Chancellor, Professor Kayode O. Adebowale, commended the regulatory role of the commission which has enhanced Nigerian universities in the discharge of their duties towards national development.


He promised the representative of NUC of the University’s maximum cooperation in achieving the assignment.


In addition, he expressed the belief that UI will top the list in the selection process, as a result of the available structures, resources, and the team of professionals on ground.


In her own remarks, Mrs. Gowon noted that the visit was targeted towards the assessment of the University of Ibadan ICT project, according to the proposal the school submitted to NUC in 2023.


She explained that the evaluation is not only limited to inspecting all ICT facilities and resources as documented in the proposal, but also on-site and desk evaluation.
