Track Events Scrapped from the Faculty of Arts Deans Tournament

The 100-meter race, 200-meter race, and relay race have been reportedly cancelled from the lineup of sports activities in the upcoming Faculty of Arts Deans Tournament for the 2022/23 session. This development was reported by the Sports Director of the Department of English on the WhatsApp page for students of the department.

According to him, the reason for cancelling track events was due to the university withholding access to the university stadium (Awo Stadium) from the faculty.

“I just got directives from the faculty’s Sports Director that all track events have been cancelled due to the unavailability of Awo stadium. The school has refused to grant access to use the Awo stadium where the track events are scheduled to hold. Hence, 100m, 200m and relay race are hereby cancelled from the Deans Tournament.” he posted
