AFAS Press wins Best Faculty Press, 9th time in a row

The Association of Faculty of Arts Students Press Organisation (AFAS Press) has emerged the Best Faculty Press Award for the 9th time in a row at the Union of Campus Journalists, University of Ibadan (UCJUI) Dinner, Award and Handover Ceremony held on today, Saturday, 4thMay, 2024 at the BNI Youth Centre, U & I Building opposite Queen Idia Hall.
The AFAS Press under the leadership of ‘Foyin Ejilola was able to keep the standard and ensure that the press organization did not churn out anything below standard, bringing the press to the nomination list and its ultimate announcement as the Best Faculty Press.
Members of the press organization also bagged nominations in different categories which includes; Foyin Ejilola was nominated under the category of Best Editor-In-Chief, Olanshile Ogunrinu and Lawal Taiwo Maruf for Best News Writer, Jolaade Ifeoluwayimika, Aduwo Ayodele and Olanshile Ogunrinu for Best Politics Writer, Grace Dolor for Best Sports Writer, Omolola Sadiq for Best Health Writer, Agnes Oyedokun and Eniola for Best Features Writer, and Eniola Awolesi for Best Entertainment Writer
The event themed Soweto Soiree – The African Affair had in attendance campus journalistsfrom various press organizations in the University of Ibadan and also alumni of the Union.
