Hon Yeboah Distances Self From AFAS President-Elect Canvassing

One of the candidates vying for the position of the Association of Faculty of Arts Students’ Legislative Council Speaker and current Chairman Investigative Committee, Hon Yeboah Daniel has distanced himself from the antics of the AFAS President-Elect, Olamilekan Adeniyi (Mojuba), rallying support for his candidacy among the honourable members as the next speaker of the legislative council .
In a release sent to AFAS Press on Tuesday evening following our publication, He said that he has never approached Mojuba to canvass for his candidacy, adding that the President-elect acted on his own “volition”.
“In response to the news earlier sent by the press. I would like to inform the House and concerned persons that on no occasion did I tell the president- elect to campaign/canvas for me to anyone. I have no absolutely input in whatever the President – elect might have done.I want to state that, what he(President – elect) did is out of his personal volition..
If anyone doubt it, they should point out where I have informed the President – elect to campaign on my behalf.”
While recounting his journey in the House as a long term serving member, he stated that he has always been an advocate of integrity of the legislative council
“During my time as Deputy Clerk of the House, and also as Chairman of the Investigative Committee, I have upheld and protected the integrity of the House. I will not do anything to undermine the House I have served over the last 2 years.”
“Lastly, I would like to expressly state that I strongly believe in my ability to lead the House and being able to convince members by myself on the floor of the House in the forthcoming election of the House without any external input.” He added.
Recall that AFAS Press had earlier reported on how AFAS President-elect, Olamilekan Adeniyi ‘Mojuba’ has been actively campaigning for Hon Daniel Yeboah in the legislative election. A practice which suggests that the president elect plans to get a rubber stamp council that cannot hold him accountable , thereby undermining the democratic ethics of the association.
