NASU, SSANU UI Protests, May Embark on Strike On Thursday

Members of the Non-Academic Staff Union of Universities (NASU) and the Senior Staff Association of Nigerian Universities (SSANU), University of Ibadan chapter, held a protest on Tuesday to demand payment of their withheld salaries from the government.
The protest which saw the main gate of the university being barricaded for hours was attended by members of the union as they carry placards bearing inscriptions to channel their agitations.
While speaking at the dispersion point at the Post graduate college, NASU UI Chairman, Comrade Ogundele noted that the union is hopeful that the government heeds to their demands before the ultimatum.
“If by 18th of June, our demands which is the the payment of our withheld salaries are not paid, we are going on strike,” he said.
