AFAS Press Politics Editor Selected for MIL Boot-Camp Training
Lawal Maruf, AFAS Press Politics Editor has been selected for the 1st Cohort of the Media for Information Literacy Boot Camp scheduled to be held in Ibadan, Oyo State.
Out of the 89 applications received by the organisation, his application was among the 41 successful applicants.
He will be participating in a 3-day intensive training on the principles of journalism, fact-checking, and report writing amongst other sessions.
In response to the successful application, he described it as an avenue to hone his journalism skills and to connect with big names in the media industry.
“With this training, I look forward to shaping my journalism skills and to meeting with those individuals who have been making waves in the media space.”
Formerly AFAS Press news editor, Maruf, a 300-level student of Philosophy, is also a fellow of the Africa Foundation for Young Media Practitioners(AFYMP).
