AFAS Holds Candlelight Tribute for Deceased Student

The Association of Faculty of Arts Students (AFAS) organized a candlelight tribute on Wednesday evening, August 14, 2024, to honor Miss Odesanmi Oluwanifemi, a 200-level student from the Department of History, who recently passed away due to illness.
The event commenced with the convergence of students at the Faculty of Arts Quadrangle with a brief prayer led by the AFAS President, Adeniyi Olamilekan. Following the prayer, the students observed a minute of silence before proceeding to Idia Hall, the late Miss Oluwanifemi’s hall of residence.
The Public Relations Officer of AFAS, Oladosu Daniel, recounted the event, stating, “Upon arrival at Idia Hall, we engaged in a prayer for the departed soul, which lasted for about ten minutes.
The tribute featured heartfelt speeches from various individuals, including a colleague of the deceased from the History Department, one of her roommates, someone from the faculty, the AFAS President, and the Hall Chairperson of Idia Hall.
The tribute concluded with dropping their candles.
