Sakeenah Kareem Shines as Faculty of Arts Secure Victory Over Nursing

Faculty of Arts Literary and Debating Society Vice President, Sakeenah Kareem, a 300-level student of the Department of Communication and Language Arts, has emerged as the overall best speaker with 85 points as the Faculty of Arts defeated the Faculty of Nursing in the ongoing Jawwar debate competition held today, Tuesday 3rd of December.

Sakeenah and her teammate, Halimah Lawal, also a student of the Department of Communication and Language Arts, debated the topic “Voting Should Be Mandated for Citizens in Democratic Countries,” earning a combined 76.5%.

The victory came down to the wire, with the Faculty of Arts edging out Nursing by just a single point.

This win propels the Faculty of Arts to the quarter-finals, where they will face the Faculty of Law, a formidable opponent with a strong record in Jawwar.
