Finally! AFAS Vice President, Others Get Sworn In
In a shift towards progressive development, newly elected executive officers of the Association of Faculty of Arts Students (AFAS) were sworn in on Thursday, 5th of December at the Sub Dean office.
Oshotse Jane, who emerged as the Vice President, Folarin Emmanuel, the Sports Director and Praise Bamiduro, the Financial Secretary were administered the oath of office by the Sub Dean, Dr O.O Berekiah in the inauguration ceremony witnessed by members of the Faculty Legislative Council, which includes the Speaker, Rt. Hon. Olajide Miqdad Folasubomi, others are Hon. Ogunsemore Busayo Blessing, Hon. Olufemi Inioluwa, Hon. Lawal Abdul-Qayyum Kayode and Hon. Idowu Jesutimilehin Abiodun.
The executive council was also represented by the General Secretary, Abiola Samuel and the Assistant General Secretary, Gbadamosi Akinsumbo. AFAS Press Editor-In-Chief was also present.
Recall that AFAS has been without a full executive council since the beginning of the session as positions like the Vice President, Sports Director and Financial Secretary have been vacant because no one vied for them during the elections.
It is hoped that this new development will catalyst a resolution in the imbroglio concerning the elected Director of Welfare.
