JCI Postpones FOPA to Feb 2025

The Junior Chamber International Nigeria (JCI), University of Ibadan, has announced the rescheduling of the Fifteen Outstanding Person’s Award (FOPA) to February 2025 in an Official Statement Release.
The release made on behalf of the Directors and Directorate of FOPA revealed that “the event, initially scheduled for December 14th 2024, has been rescheduled to hold next year February” adding that the reason for the change is for the Award to maintain its stanndard of transparency and fairness.
The release stated that technical glitches occured during nomination and voting that may smear the integrity of the Awards, hence the need to review the nomination.
The statement reads in part “we have specifically revoked double nominations to prevent any potential conflicts or biases. Affected nominees have been reassigned to categories that best align with their achievements and portfolios, ensuring that their contributions are accurately recognised and celebrated.”
JCI through the release apologised for invonveniences that may have been caused by the chaange in date, reiterating that the rescheduling will enhance the overall credibility and transparency of the award prcess.
The Directors and Directorate of FOPA communicated the resumption date for voting as 16th December, 2024.
