AFAS PACKAGE: AFAS FLC Audit Committee Demands MOU On Grounds of Inconsistencies

Following the report of the FLC Investigative Probe Panel on the Souvenirs to be distributed as AFAS Package, the Audit Committee has requested the memorandum of understanding between the executive council and the contractor due to some inconsistencies surrounding the souvenirs.

“Sequel to the investigation conducted by the investigative/probe panel. It has come to the notice of the Audit Committee that there are some inconsistencies with what was approved by the FLC and what was done by the Executive Council.”

In the release jointly signed by the Chairman of the Audit Committee, Hon Olufemi Inioluwa and the Secretary, Hon Adeniyi Oluwadunsin, the committee demanded an explicit explanation ranging from the memorandum of understanding, number of books approved, the exact number of souvenirs in the stage of completion, account for the expenditure of the approved miscellaneous.

The committee also ordered the executive council to adhere to the injunction of the FLC, stopping them from the distribution of the packages.

“The Audit Committee therefore would require: A Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between the Executive Council and The Publisher of the Book; the accurate number of books approved to be presented; the accurate number of souvenirs approved in COMPLETE condition; an Account for the Expenditure of the Miscellaneous approved; that the Executive Council strictly adhere to the injunction by the FLC and refrain from distributing the packages.”

Meanwhile, the committee stated that the conditions must be met and satisfied before Monday, January 20, 2025.”

“All of these conditions need to be met and satisfied before the Audit Committee on or before Monday, January 20th, 2025.”
