The AFAS FLC has announced that the Director of Sports in various departments should mobilise payments of basic dues of AFASites representing their constituencies in the Dean’s Games.

This announcement was made in a release by the FLC titled “Update: AFAS Deans’ Games”. Affirming that “The House wants every department to be aware that the commencement of the Dean’s Games lies in the hands of AFASites”.

The release stated that upon approval of the budget for Dean’s Games, certain clauses were outlined that have not been met, hence, delaying the start of the sessional event. The clauses as stated in the release are; “a minimum of eleven players out of the fifteen players per team for the male category must be financial members of the Association, that is, they must have paid their basic dues.”

And “A minimum of seven players out of the ten players per team for the female category must be financial members of the Association, that is, they must have paid their basic dues”. With the third being that “It is only upon confirmation of the two clauses above by the Investigative Probe Panel that the letter of approval will be signed by the House for the Dean’s Games Budget.”

The release read in part “The director of SPorts in various departments should also help with this and collate the names of their financial members to play the Dean’s Games.” adding that “To host the Dean’s Games, the logistics, and other costs require funds and the only way that can be realised is through the payment of basic dues.”
