FACT CHECK: No! AFAS Executives Did not Budget for FLC Pictures

The President of the Association of Faculty of Arts Students, Adeniyi Olamilekan has made two petitions against the FLC with assertions in the two releases that the executives of the association had presented a budget for group pictures of all honourable members, FLC Principal Officers, and executives to ensure inclusiveness. Affirming that the Legislative arm scrapped the budget.
The president on Friday, November 29th, 2024 presented the budget for the proposed association package and souvenir for the session. In the budget, the only present budget for photography was that of the Executive Council.
Upon deliberation of the house, in the plenary session, the Executive Shoot with the cost of N20,000 was removed from the approved budget upon ratification.
After the approval of the budget, the president requested from the FLC pictures for the production of the Book in the package on Tuesday, December 10th, 2024 by sending a message to the Speaker at 5:38pm with the deadline to be Thursday, December 12th, 2024, which the FLC was unable to meet up with.
The President in the petition sent to the Association’s Legal Adviser stated that there was provision for the FLC Photographs in the budget presented to the House of which there is no point in the budget where the President presented to the House covered the photograph of the members of the FLC, either corporately or individually.
