AFAS FLC Approves the Request to Compress Budget for AFAS Week, Dinner, Variety Night and Cultural Night

The AFAS FLC has approved the request for the funds earlier approved for AFAS Dinner and Variety Night 1,047,000 naira to be allotted to cater for AFAS Week, Dinner, Cultural Night, and Variety Night.

The approval was done in the FLC Virtual Sitting held on February 2nd, 2025. According to the release titled “Resolutions of the Emergency Virtual Plenary Session of AFAS FLC held on the 2nd of February, 2025”, “Based on the series of letters from the Executive Council and the resignations of some executive members in reaction to the budget initially approved by the House for the Dinner, the House had to reconsider its stance on the budget for the integrity and prosperity of our dear Association.” the release read in part.

The FLC asserted that “The Executive Council requested to use the 1,047,000 naira initially approved for Dinner and Variety Night for the Dinner, AFAS Week, Cultural Night and Variety Night.” 

The House approved the request to change the earlier intention for the budget but with the clause that “all revenues generated be remitted back to the Association’s purse and that the Executive Council shall give a detailed report after the events.”
