Philosophy Outclass Classics in a Thrilling AFAS Super 4 Clash

By: Joshua Obisesan
Philosophy showed class over Classics after securing a hard-fought 1-0 victory at the AFAS SUPER 4, at SUB Pitch.
A brilliant finish by Philosophy’s Talisman, Justice, was enough to snatch a win and book their spot in the finals of the competition.
Both sides struggled to break the deadlock early in the game, as their defence stood tall to thwart any attacking threats from either side.
However, Classics’ backline eventually bowed to the attacking pressure of the Plato boys in the last seven minutes of the first half , as Justice reacted quickest to a loose ball, firing a powerful shot that beat the goalkeeper despite great effort to deny him the goal.
As the second half kicked off, Classics pressed harder in search of an equaliser to get back in the game, but their attacking threat couldn’t break the formidable defence of the Plato Boys.
Philosophy almost put the icing on the cake towards the ending of the second half, when Justice raced down the flank at a breakneck speed. However, a miscalculated touch alerted the Classics’ defenders giving them enough time to snuff out the threat.
With the finals now set and to be played on Thursday, Philosophy will lock horns with AIS in what promises to be an exhilarating encounter.
