SERENA WILLIAMS DENIES RECEIVING SIGNAL FROM COACH DURING US OPEN
Serena Williams maintained that she never received any coaching signals from her coach, Patrick Moratoglou in the course of her defeat to Naomi Osaka. Mouratoglou admitted that he made calls to Serena to maintain her cool before she finally lashed out at the umpire. Williams was charged with three code violations and slammed a fine of $17,000 for her actions.
In her words, she said “He said he made a motion, I don’t understand what he was talking about. We’ve never had signals. I just don’t understand. If you’re a female, you should be able to do even half of what a guy can do.”
