FLC TO MANDATE REPORTS FROM OFFICES BEFORE APPROVING FURTHER BUDGET

The legislative arm of the faculty of Arts (FLC) has mandated the need for reports from executive offices in the association before any other intending budgets can be approved.

This was said following the house willful decision to thoroughly scrutinize and get account for money approved to any offices for the dispensation of her duties after its sitting held on Friday, 4th of October, 2019.

Quite notably during the scrutiny of the sport director’s supplementary budget, the deputy speaker of the house, Hon. Olumide Osinuga, had passed on a displeased comment on the failure of the sport director to provide a report on the two major sport activities that the faculty had witnessed for the semester—the Superfour and Interfaculty competition—and thereby asserted that reports should be made as a prerequisite in order to approve subsequent budgets, least they forfeit their chances of having their budget accepted by the house.

Osinuga newly moved position was undoubtedly made in connection with the president’s failure to bring a report on the ID card to the house.

The speaker, Hon. Peter Olagunju, had however mentioned that such a move—not to accept budgets on the basis of reports— would be chaotic and would only mandate the clerk to pass on a letter to erring executive offices.
