FLC QUESTIONS THE FINANCIAL SECRETARY ON HIS DUTIES

The Association of Faculty of Arts Legislative Council (FLC) on the recently held faculty legislative sitting questioned the association’s financial secretary on his credibility and transparency.

The house frowned at the financial secretary’s poor accounting especially when he could not produce an evidence of payment of refund made by the sports director.  The sports director claimed to have paid to the financial secretary and had the evidence of payment.

The financial secretary affirmed the payment made by the sports director, but alleged he forgot to issue him a receipt, due to the amount of activities that was ongoing at that time. He claimed the responsibility of the money when the audit committee looked into it.

The house finalized that the statement of account and the issue of the refund is to be referred and checked by the investigative and audit committee.
