Duncan Mighty arrested for alleged N11m fraud

On the 14th of December, 2019, news spread that a Nigerian singer, Duncan Mighty, was beaten up and abducted by unknown gunmen in Owerri, Imo state. The news was revealed by popular club owner, Cubana Chief Priest, who took to his instagram page to share the story.
However, the police in Imo state have refuted the claim that the singer was abducted. According to their spokesman, Ikechukwu Orlando, Duncan was arrested for an alleged fraud of N11m. The allegation was leveled against Duncan Mighty by M2, an upcoming artiste in Imo state, who claimed that the state government under the tenure of the former governor, Rochas Okorocha, signed a deal with the singer. The deal included that Duncan Mighty should sign M2 under his record label and manage, promote and arrange collaborations with other artistes, which he did not fulfill. Before this, the artiste was arrested and he affirmed that there was such deal, but he can only refund the money if the contract is terminated, he was then released on bail. Hence, the contract was terminated to enable him refund the money and since then, he absconded and all efforts made to reach him proved abortive until he was apprehended.
