In this interview with AFAS Press, Fayemiwo Eniola speaks how she combines schooling with Entrepreneurship

AFAS PRESS: May we get to know you?

Eniola: I’m Fayemiwo Eniola, a 300 level student of the Department of Archaeology , University of Ibadan. I’m an entrepreneur (hairstylist)

AFAS PRESS: How’s entrepreneurship been?

Eniola: It’s been full of challenges, starting from how to develop your brand, the right publicity, how to relate with customers and how to keep up. It’s been full of ups and downs but you just have to keep striving and making the best of your brand. Being an entrepreneur has been favourable to me as it settles bills and also the satisfaction I give to my customers makes me happy.

AFAS PRESS: So now that the school is in its fifth week of resumption, how has your schooling been combined with your business?

Eniola: Schooling combined with business has been awesome as you tend to get more clients because school is in session now and it doesn’t affect my studies in any way. So, I am good to go.

AFAS PRESS: What strategies do you engage in to get your clients?

Eniola: Through publicity. It can be a paid advert, a WhatsApp link, a broadcast message, or even a physical engagement.

AFAS PRESS: What is your source of motivation?

Eniola: The satisfaction my clients get. This makes me want to do more and serve them better.

AFAS PRESS: How far do you plan to go with your hairdressing business?

Eniola: Very far. I’m making plans on how the brand will grow bigger with new strategies in place. So, yes very far.

AFAS PRESS: What gave you the idea of the business?

Eniola: Watching my mum when she makes our hair back then gave me the interest. So I learnt to do that for a few years.

AFAS PRESS: When did you begin hairdressing?

Eniola: In 2017.

AFAS PRESS: What do you consider to be your highlights so far?

Eniola: Having a source of income that settles bills.

AFAS PRESS: If you were to advise others as an entrepreneur, what would your advice be?

Eniola: To continue striving and things will surely get better. It is also important to know that there is no family in business. Business does not need familiarity. Ensure you name your price before rendering service to avoid issues.

AFAS PRESS: Could you share any words of encouragement that you use personally?

Eniola: Look beyond your profits. Ensure your client’s satisfaction. That alone makes you happy.

AFAS PRESS: Personally do you have a mentor or anyone you aspire to be like?

Eniola: Yes, my mum. she is an entrepreneur with over 25 years of experience.
