FLC TO SUMMON FINANCIAL SECRETARY

The Faculty Legislative Council has agreed to summon the financial secretary of the association, Ms Daniel Olamide Peniel, over what it calls financial misappropriation. In an audit report presented to the House by the Chairman Audit committee, Honourable Adebiyi Emmanuel, it was found that an unapproved sum of #15,300 had been withdrawn from the association’s account.

Honourable members of the House had initially suggested disciplinary actions, which could lead to her vacation of office, in accordance to the constitution. However, the House later decided to summon her, to give her account of the story.

However, in response to the audit report, the financial secretary has stated that she had not misappropriated funds. This, she explained in a WhatsApp Broadcast message circulated on the faculty’s WhatsApp group page.

This makes it a second time the same charges would be levelled on the office of the financial secretary.
