FLC APPROVES INTERFACULTY GAMES BUDGET, OTHERS
The Faculty of Arts Legislative Council, FLC, has approved the budget of the interfaculty games, AFAS and I and a part of the AFAS Press budget. In an emergency sitting held on the 7th of September, the sum of ninety two thousand naira (#92,000) was approved for the interfaculty games. Although an initial sum of sixty seven thousand naira (#67,000) was presented by the Sports Director, Ayegbami Yusuff, the House increased the approved sum to #92,000. This was to adequately cater for the needs of the sport persons. The Speaker, Rt. Honorable Mohammed Solahudeen also took it upon himself to cater for some part of the transportation cost. He also committed himself to taking two members of the house with him to the games.
A sport committee was also set up to work with the Sport director through the interfaculty games, as well as the Dean’s cup.
In like manner, the sum of one hundred and ten thousand, six hundred and seventeen naira, five Kobo (#110, 617.5k) was approved for AFAS and I and AFAS FUNFARE.
Also, the sum of thirty thousand naira (#30,000) was approved for the Press arm of the organization. Owing to time constraint, part of the budget presented by the Press was approved, as the House adjourned the scrutiny of the other parts till the next sitting.
