UI STUDENTS AMONG TOP 10 SCAD CHAMPIONSHIPS

Two students of the University of Ibadan, Nafisat Ogunsesan and Olamilekan Adebanjo have made it to the top ten at the 2021 edition of the SimmonsCooper

Advocacy Development (SCAD) clinching 6th and 8th positions respectively. The top ten finalists moved from the Brief Writing stage, to the Oral Advocacy stage at the SCAD competition which took place on Saturday, 25th September, 2021.

While Bada Oladunni Ikenna, from the University of Lagos stood out as winner of the first position, Igweonu Chidera, from Enugu State University of Science and Technology, and Alao Omeiza Joshua of the Nigerian Law School, Lagos, emerged second and third positions respectively.

The SimmonsCooper Advocacy Development Programme (SCAD) is an initiative conceived by SimmonsCooper Partners (SCP), a law firm, during the leadership of the Vice President, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo (SAN), who once served as a senior partner at the firm. The initiative was aimed at helping law undergraduates and students of the Nigerian Law School develop the skills of writing, legal analysis, research, and advocacy.

Nafisat Ogunsesan and Olamilekan Adebanjo are both from the Faculty of Law, University of Ibadan.
