AFASites Labour over Getting Receipts as more complain of Disenfranchisement

Sequel to the cry of disenfranchisement, many AFASites have crowded the AFAS secretariat to lay complaints on the delay in getting receipts after paying their dues for many weeks. An AFASite complained of her inability to find her name in the list of those who had paid even after paying before the secretariat was renovated. While the executive council resloves that, more AFASites have trooped to the Secretariat to pay their dues to enable them vote.

The atmosphere becomes tense as AFAS financial secretary, Daniel Peniel, was tipped to the brink of an emotional outburst, as students confronted her at the AFAS secretariat, accusing her of deliberately tampering with the list bearing the names of students who paid the faculty due, hence preventing them from voting. It was however cleared, that the omission of these names was solely a defect from the electoral commission because the commission got the names from Presidents of departments and not from the executive. This resulted in some names being left out and some sent without matric numbers. The chairman of the commission admitted this error as the commission works on manually on-boarding the names of students who are unable to vote, due to the error of omission.
