In a bid to keep AFASITES informed about latest developments in the Faculty, Elizabeth Inda-John and Olajide Oladokun, AFAS correspondents, quizzed the President and the Speaker of the Legislative council on incidents that happened in the previous session and what to anticipate in the current one.
AFAS PRESS: Can you please introduce yourself?
President: I am Hon. Emmanuel Akinyoola, 400 level student of the Department of Theatre Arts, University of Ibadan, AFAS President.
AFAS PRESS: Since you assumed office, how would you describe your experiences so far?
President: Demanding and pleasurable.
AFAS PRESS: What is your view about the past administration?
President: We served AFAS in our best capacities both individually and collectively.
AFAS PRESS: What can you say about other members of your cabinet?
President: They are Altruists, energetic, ready to serve; all for the betterment of AFAS.
AFAS PRESS: What should AFASITES watch out for in the new semester?
President: Educative, entertaining and progressive activities; best of Team Altruism.
AFAS PRESS: What is your advice for the freshmen?
President: They should focus primarily on their academics and be security conscious on and off campus. They should always bear in mind the sons and daughters of whom they are. Then, extracurricular activities are good too, nevertheless they should prioritize good grades for now.
AFAS PRESS: Are there things that you’d love to improve on from the last administration? If yes, can you tell us two of them?
President: Yes of course! We shall ensure AFASITES are not denied their full package, we shall execute a flawless dinner, just to mention a few of what we shall improve on.
AFAS PRESS: Alright, just remember AFASITES will hold you to that. Finally, any word for staylites and finalists?
President: Academically, most staylites and finalists know where they belong to now, however, we can still upgrade by pushing harder. Morally, they should keep being of good conduct in and outside the University environment. Also, their ardent supports and diligence are utmost craved by the current administration {Team Altruism}; Forget not, we all are ALTRUISTS for the love of AFAS, and together we can make AFAS better.
