Super 4: Res edges Ant/arch 1-0 to become the Super 4 female champions

In the super 4 female final match which started at 4:42 pm on Sunday, 2nd April 2023 at the SUB Pitch, Naiwo from RES scored the only goal of the match through a straight freekick that went over Erioluwa into the net.
Although RES had a good start, the game didn’t intensify until after a goal was scored. RES forward Naiwo had a couple of memorable freekicks that were on target; however, one of the pools of freekick went past the Ant’s goalkeeper into the back of the net.
Following the goal, a very good attempt from Ant/Arch forward was saved by Dorcas. As the game grew on, Naiwo dragged an effort wide off the post. In defence, Marvellous and Peniel blocked two more freekicks from Ant/Arch.
Towards the end of the first half, Ant/Arch were awarded a penalty after a RES player was adjudged to have handled the ball in the penalty area. The Ant/Arch No3 stepped up to take the penalty but could not convert as her effort went off the post.
In the second half, Lolo and Naiwo from RES and No. 7 and No. 5 from Ant/Arch had several chances, but couldn’t convert them into goals. Both goalies also made some amazing saves as the game headed into the closing stages.
A minute to the end of the game a close attempt from Ant/Arch No.7 from freekick hit the tip of the post.
The only goal in the match won RES a gold medal as the final score remained 1 nil to Religious Study department.
