In a plenary session that was held on the 26th of April at the Mike Okiro centre, the Faculty Legislative Council has finally impeached the Chief Whip of the house, Hon Al-ameen Oladejo.

On the reason for his impeachment, he had refused to appear before the house for fair hearing after his suspension thereby forfeiting his seat as a member of the house.

Hon Al-ameen had earlier violated the Article 21 (iii) by not attending the sitting for three consecutive times which necessitated his earlier suspension. The house then invited him for a fair hearing but he did not appear at the sitting.

In cognisance to this, the house has deemed it fit to suspend the chief whip in accordance with the Article 19 (xi) which states that “ the house have the power to impeach or suspend and remove any of it’s principal officers by 2/3 majority of members of the FLC present at the meeting”.
